Changes Are Happening In The Royal Family

On Monday, November 27, 2017 The Prince of Wales announced his son, Prince Harry’s engagement to Ms. Meghan Markle. The wedding was announced to take place at St. George’s Chapel, Winsdor on Saturday, May 19. Right off the bat, mostly everything about this Royal wedding of 2018 is significantly different from prior Royal family weddings.

Meghan Markle, a biracial woman from Los Angeles, California is whom Harry sees himself spending the rest of his life with. Markle spent most of the beginning of her life and early adulthood trying to fit within the acting community. Trying to land small acting jobs as appearing in some episodes of TV shows and in small parts of some movies. It had became aware to news and social media outlets that the newly wedded couple had originally met on a blind date.

Markle is the first woman of any other race other than ‘just white’ to be wedded into the Royal family. Ever since the announced engagement, she and Harry have both received different, controversial opinions about them being together and marrying one another. Some of the things said are amazing and wishful that they have a long lasting, loving and caring marriage and others see their marriage as wrong and against the normality of the Royal ways. Harry and Meghan are the first ones as well to marry on a day during the weekend.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wed on a Friday and the Queens on a Thursday. Ever since the years of Diana being princess and before her death, things have changed in the Royal family. That was the start of the women simply not ‘following a rule book.’ Diana tried to normalize her family and her sons and lead them to live a normal life.

Meghan is seen to follow in the same footsteps just as Diana, Princess of Wales and Catherine Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge. There seems to be continuing change, and new found rules within the Royal family and that is hopeful for years to come.
