Abel Tesfaye, better known by “The Weeknd”, is a Grammy award winning artist who rose to fame in 2011 after anonymously dropping an EP titled “House of Balloons”. The same year he dropped two more EP’s entitled “Thursday” and “Echoes of Silence”.

In 2012 however, he combined all three into his first album called “Trilogy”, which peaked at number one on the Billboard Top 100 in 2012. Six years and four albums later, he is still going strong.

After traveling to his hometown of Toronto, Canada to do a concert for a charity event held by his best friend, he announced in front of all his fans that he hasn’t been more inspired in years. He then proceeded to say Chapter VI coming soon. Now to any regular person, this could have flown right over their heads. But to XO or the community in which The Weeknd fans thrive, this meant that he is currently working on a new album. XO refers to The Weeknd’s albums as chapters because of how impactful each album is on the artist’s life.

The artist’s fan base was overwhelmed hearing the news, seeing as the singer’s last big album was in 2016 titled “Starboy”, excluding the six song EP that was released in March of 2018 titled “My Dear Melancholy,”. Few details are known however, other than a few snippets posted by friends of the “Starboy” singer. One thing is certain however: there are millions of fans patiently waiting for the long overdue album.
